Men more likely 'to forgive an affair'
January 27, 11
Jaime Confer, a doctoral candidate in evolutionary psychology at the University of Texas in Austin, led the study into how males and females deal with infidelity.
It was revealed that 50 per cent of men would continue dating their girlfriend if she had an affair with someone of the same sex.
In comparison, only 22 per cent said they would stay with a woman who was involved with another man.
Meanwhile, ladies were less accepting of cheating, with 28 per cent demonstrating an inclination to continue seeing their boyfriend after a heterosexual affair.
Men who cheated with other males would only be taken back by 21 per cent of women.
United Press International recently reported that researchers from the University of Chicago found increasing numbers of females are having affairs.
